To hit a tight launch window, we bypassed “heavy” infrastructure in favor of a lean, mean, serverless MLOps pipeline. The goal was simple: ingest, analyze, and rank—without the overhead of managing virtual machines.
- Automated Ingestion: Using Cloud Scheduler and Cloud Run, we built an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process that continuously pulls influencer data directly from X.
- The BigQuery Warehouse: All data flows into BigQuery, serving as a structured, query-ready hub for all influencer data. This creates a scalable foundation for future longitudinal analysis.
- The Gemini Intelligence Layer: We deployed Gemini 2.5 Pro that evaluates not just reach, but engagement quality, relevance, and potential market impact, producing transparent scores.
- The Output Engine: Each profile receives a transparent 100-point score, with rationale. Only the highest-impact influencers are surfaced, ready for immediate engagement. Insights feed directly into marketing workflows, enabling near-real-time targeting decisions.
Why Gemini 2.5 Pro?
The choice of model defines the outcome. We chose Gemini 2.5 Pro on Vertex AI for its massive context window and its sophisticated reasoning capabilities.
In crypto, context is king. An influencer might have 500k followers, but if their engagement is driven by bot-farms or unrelated “airdrop” spam, they are useless for a DeFi launch. Gemini 2.5 Pro allowed us to feed the model deep profile data and receive a detailed rationale for every score.
As a result, we didn’t just get a number; we got a “why.” The system surfaced top-tier influencers scoring in the 83–86/100 range, explaining exactly how their specific audience aligned with XDFi’s liquidity goals.

After the initial deployment, the numbers spoke for themselves:
