Business Development Representative

Overview:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in the sales process by identifying, qualifying, and generating new business opportunities for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions. This role requires a combination of technical understanding, sales acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with potential customers and nurture leads through the initial stages of the sales funnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Proactively identify and qualify potential GCP customers through a combination of research, networking, and outbound outreach (cold calling, emailing, social selling).
  • Customer Engagement: Initiate contact with prospects, understand their business needs, and articulate the value proposition of GCP solutions.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct discovery calls to assess prospects' technical requirements, pain points, and goals.
  • Opportunity Qualification: Determine if prospects are a good fit for GCP solutions based on their needs, budget, and decision-making timeline.
  • Lead Nurturing: Maintain regular communication with prospects, provide relevant information, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to transition qualified leads and ensure a smooth handover.
  • CRM Management: Accurately track and manage leads, opportunities, and activities in the CRM system.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and GCP product updates.

Required Experience:

  • Sales Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a BDR or similar sales role, preferably in the technology or cloud industry.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and the ability to articulate the value of GCP solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and compelling presentations.
  • Prospecting Skills: Proven track record of successful lead generation through outbound outreach and research.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish rapport and build relationships with prospects over the phone and email.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple leads simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resilience: Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • GCP Knowledge: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform products and services is a plus.
  • CRM Experience: Proficiency in using Salesforce or other CRM systems.
