About the Project
We are migrating from a legacy Tripadvisor-to-Apple data feed to the modern Apple Business Connect Push API. The goal is to build a robust integration that ensures seamless data flow, aligning with evolving API standards and enabling greater scalability and accuracy.
This role involves end-to-end ownership of the project—from architecture and development through migration and delivery. The engineer will collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to ensure alignment on design, business context, and delivery goals.
Responsibilities
- Design the integration between Tripadvisor’s API and the Apple Connect Push API in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.
- Present and iterate on design proposals with the backend team.
- Build a system to retrieve, transform, and deliver data from Tripadvisor to Apple Connect.
- Drive the migration strategy from the legacy system to the new platform.
- Deliver high-quality, production-ready code that integrates with the existing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain awareness of the team’s infrastructure, environments, and operational standards.
- Collaborate regularly with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager to incorporate business requirements and validate implementation choices.
- Work independently with support available from the team during onboarding and as needed for technical or contextual guidance.
Profile
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with a high degree of independence, can contribute effectively to system architecture discussions, and delivers high-quality results within a defined timeframe. A successful candidate will balance initiative with collaboration, integrating feedback from teammates while maintaining forward progress.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Java (Java 21 preferred).
- Proficiency in the Spring framework, including Boot, Web, and Security modules.
- Experience with Gradle (Groovy DSL).
- Solid understanding of OpenAPI specification (YAML).
- SQL expertise, especially with PostgreSQL.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS, with experience on at least some of:
- API Gateway
- RDS
- Lambda
- AWS Batch
- CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK
- Experience designing cloud-native architectures and infrastructure on AWS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Nice to Have:
- Docker and docker-compose experience.
- Database versioning tools such as Liquibase.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Micrometer, Prometheus).
- TypeScript experience, particularly when used with AWS CDK.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mulesoft Certification.

About the project
We partner closely with Google and collaborate with a diverse range of clients across industries. Our projects vary, from building predictive models for eCommerce platforms to anticipate consumer behavior, to helping production companies automate and enhance their inspection processes through AI-driven solutions.
We work with a mix of pre-built models (e.g., Google’s Gemini) and custom models, which we fine-tune and deploy based on specific client requirements. Your project allocation will be determined by your skill set and start date, ensuring a strong match for both your expertise and the current project needs.
Our projects typically follow these phases:
- Workshop: In this phase, we engage with clients to understand their challenges, conduct research, and propose tailored AI solutions.
- Proof of Concept (PoC): Here, we build a prototype to validate the feasibility of the proposed solution.
- Development: This is where we transition into long-term projects, focusing on the full-scale development and implementation of the solution.
While we primarily use Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure, we are also equipped to work with a variety of models and cloud services depending on the project’s requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms that utilize deep learning and traditional methods in machine learning
- Create experiments, algorithms and prototypes that not only yield high-accuracy but are also designed and engineered to scale
- Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns and insights to drive business decisions
- Optimize machine learning algorithms for scalability, speed, and accuracy
Qualifications:
- 4+ years in applying AI/ML principles to real-world applications
- Deploying models as REST APIs (Flask) and using TFServe (Tensorflow).
- Excellent proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with Generative AI OR / AND Traditional AI
- Experience in building Bigdata pipelines and proven track record of implementing Machine learning models
- Understand and explain model and automated decisions to business and technical stakeholders
- Experience in Model development and deployment in GCP is big plus
- Broad Machine Learning experience - Algorithm Evaluation, Preparation, Analysis, Modeling and Execution
- Exposure to Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning and/or Time-Series techniques is a plus
